The Accounting team provides financial information to all levels of the company and government agencies including filing of various taxes and preparation of corporate, divisional and governmental reports.

Our designers are responsible for researching and identifying trends that relate to the Aéropostale customer. They handle the overall development and direction of the line including basic merchandising concepts from a design point of view. FINANCE
Finance handles budget and payroll planning, preparation and analysis. They oversee the real estate administration, treasury administration and all cash needs, assessment and investment. Finance is also responsible for ensuring compliance with Sarbanes Oxley regulations.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS
IT maintains our current computer systems which include AS/400, Island Pacific and Maple Lake. They are also responsible for developing new and enhanced systems to increase productivity. Our Help Desk also provides support to all corporate users and store systems.

LEGAL DEPARTMENT
The Legal Department is responsible for overseeing all legal matters for the Company including securities/Sarbanes Oxley compliance, employment, real estate, intellectual property, contracts and other matters. Legal also functions as a strategic partner to management by managing legal risk and liability and maximizing current and future business opportunities.

LOSS PREVENTION
LP handles all internal and external theft and fraud investigations as well as coordinating and reconciling semi-annual physical inventories in our stores and distribution center. Loss prevention is based out of our Lyndhurst, NJ office.

The Merchandise Planning team is responsible for developing, executing and communicating strategic merchandise financial plans and strategies that support the merchandising and financial objectives of the company. They are also responsible for creating preseason sales, margin and inventory plans by department/class that support the merchandise and financial strategies of the company.

OPERATIONS
Based in our Lyndhurst, New Jersey office, the Store Operations team ensures that our stores have what they need to run their stores effectively and meet the needs of our customers. They control the purchasing and delivery of supplies through the distribution center and help our stores deal with any maintenance issues that may occur. Store Operations also supervises the construction of all new and retrofit stores which includes dealing with insurance issues, business licenses, deliveries and purchases.

REAL ESTATE
The Real Estate team identifies and sources locations for where our store will be. They also manage and negotiate the contracts with the contractors to build our stores, leases and vendor management.

STORE PLANNING & ALLOCATION
The Store Planners and Distribution Analysts are responsible for keeping stores stocked with the right merchandise assortment. They interact with Merchandise Planners and Merchandisers to implement the business and merchandise plan, coordinate the warehouse, develop basic stock models and distribute all merchandise to these models.

VISUAL MERCHANDISING
The visual team supports our store by providing creative visual merchandising direction for all stores. Working with our Merchants and Planners, they conceive and develop prototypical floor sets and display techniques for each new seasonal merchandise group.

CONSTRUCTION
The Construction Department builds all new and remodeled stores. Once a Store Location is approved, Real Estate passes it to Store Construction and they’ll take it from design to turnover. Store Construction also does various capital projects throughout the chain.

E-COMMERCE
The E-Commerce team launched our website in May 2005 and since then it has grown rapidly to over $100 Million in sales. E-Commerce is an integral part of our multi-channel strategy to serve our Aéropostale and PS from Aéropostale customers, and will continue to be an important source of sales growth for the Company.

INVENTORY CONTROL
Inventory Control is responsible for the flow of product units and dollars in the systems. They are responsible for making certain the stock ledger and physical inventory data is correct. They also validate that shipments are properly received in stores and that the integrity of “inventory on hands” is accurate.

LOGISTICS
We have 3 DC’s, one on the east coast in South River, NJ, one on the west coast in Ontario, CA and one in Canada in Etobicoke, ON. Our Logistics team creates the ability for our stores to get our product to our customers. Vendors will ship products to our distribution center. The distribution center will then store the product until needed by our stores and ship the proper quantity.

MARKETING
Our Marketing team plans and creates all in store advertising, from window signage to in store promotional signage, sale signage, posters and direct mail pieces. They present comprehensive conceptual designs for all promotional programs. Our Direct Marketing team works to come up with new and creative ways to bring our customer on-line to shop. They work to create a web site that appeals to our customer base and communicates exciting events at Aéropostale. Finally our Public Relations team works to consistently communicate the Aéropostale message and brand image to the public.

MERCHANDISING
Through assortment planning, analyzing sales and profit, line development, merchandise selection on a seasonal basis and knowing the Aéropostale customer, our Merchandising teams play a key role in determining what is sold in our stores. By presenting new and challenging merchandising and product ideas, the merchants are key to the development and enhancement of the business.

PRODUCTION
The Production team works with manufacturers around the world to develop, source and place product on a seasonal basis emphasizing quality and maintaining plans. They are responsible for follow-up of the approval process and for sourcing quick response programs. Production also oversees the quality control process ensuring that all goods meet Aéropostale standards.

SALES AUDIT
Sales Audit supports our stores by monitoring and reporting any problems relating to questionable transactions including: cash discrepancies, high-risk transactions and promotional store activity.

TECHNICAL DESIGN
The Technical Design team ensures that merchandise is constructed and fits to Aéropostale standards. They inspect and prepare garments for fittings, arrange and conduct fit sessions, communicate corrections and adjustments to overseas offices and vendors and approve garments for production.
